The lost world of jurassic park - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

More fun than the first with better special effects and more action sequences. The acting wasn't perfect but I've seen worse. The trailer scene is one of the best action scenes. It was better done in the movie than in the novel (I have read both novels - thank you). This film delivers great action and suspense that makes it highly memorable in movie history.

Slow but good - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

It felt a little longer then it had to be but it's doable. The special effects in this film were even better than the 1st though the actors in this one were nowhere near as good as the ones in the previous film. The music was still great but it had way too much talk in it and the action could've been more than what they had.

Super scary!! - Signs Reviews

This movie is brilliant! Ive got one piece of advice - never watch it alone! It was an excellent story and it is super scary!!! Definitley one to watch a 10/10 !

Worth your time the first time - Signs Reviews

The first time I seen "Signs" was at the local theater and found it very chilling. What I liked most was the humor. If that weren't there you'd just be bored. "Signs" isn't a movie you should see more than twice because otherwise you might not like it anymore. It was better than "The 6th Sense" and especially "Unbreakable."

It was soooo amazing - Signs Reviews

I absolutely loved this film it got me jumping in my seats at each scene and usually the thoughts of aliens made me laugh and this movie made me bite my nails in fear! Also the acting was good Joaquin and Mel did wonderful and even the kids did a superb job. I give it 2 thumbs WAY up!

A good sequel - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

To follow a movie like Jurassic Park is not easy, yet this movie does it pretty well. Even thought this movie would have been much better had it followed the book it still is entertaining. This movie focuses more on suspense than action unlike the second sequel. I recommend to others.

Just as good as the first, if not better - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

This was a great movie. It was just as good as the first, if not better. They had more dinosaurs, more action, and more humor. I liked it when they brought in the 2 T-Rex's instead of just the one. Great movie.

The sequels don't match up to the first. - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

The Lost World was an incredibly popular movie in 1997. There were toys advertised, the movie itself, and various other momentos. However, The Lost World isn't all it's topped off to be. Firstly, the the story is over-complicated and the acting could be better. However, there are dinosaurs and that is, more or less, all that matters. The directing isn't as good as the first one, of course, and the visuals are stunning, as usual. However, if you have either seen the first one, or are a fan of dinosaurs, I suggest you see this movie.

Twice the movie - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

A lot of people didn't think this movie was very good, but I thought it was every bit as good as the first, maybe better. There are more dinosaurs and more carnage. I just love the part where the T-rex stomps through San Diego.

Better than the first! - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Its better than the first. Nice actors, Nice story, nice everything! I still love dinosaurs. I am 13 and I love dinosaurs!

The lost world - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

good but it's not jurassic park it lack the thriller like the first one and there's no smart acts also the events are far away from each other.

Read this review over the others - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

OKAY PEOPLE, just to clear up a few things: sure, the story isnt that good compared to the first, but hey, how can any movie even attempt to out-live the brilliance of the first plot?? this one tried & didnt quite succede but its still good. YES, the charaters are in fact good. even though malcom kind of over does it, and the other characters do kind-of stupid things (like sarah leaving the blood on her shirt), if they didnt do that, how would they weave the famous t-rex scene in which it terrorizes the camp site into the lost world's already full story (and keep it exciting)?? i mean seriosly people, get over yourselves. name one good movie in where something exciting happens NOT because of the character's stupid decions. if you really want to fully enjoy this master-peice of a movie, you have to ignore the faults it has and eagerly witness some of the best scenes in movie history (some of these scenes are even better than the original): FIRST OF ALL, the "oh my god the t-rex is coming to knock our trialer off the cliff OH MY GOD WE'RE GONNA DIE" scene. what other director can pull off such a complicated scene other than Steven Spielberg????? when sarah's frail, helpless body falls through the hanging trialer onto crackling glass, your heart will beat faster and faster each and every time you wittness it's fine impact on what us human's fear the worst: being in a situation where we know we're going to die and we cant do a damn thing about it. SECOND OF ALL, the raptor scene. this scene by far is the scariest in all of the JP movies. even though the RAPTORS didnt really get that big of a part in this jurassic movie, they still get memorable cuts such as the "DONT GO INTO THE LONG GRASS!!" part where the running victims get secretly stalked and hunted down by the ferious beasts. Also, the scene in which Malcom, Sarah and Kelly fight for their lives against 3 (yes, count that: 3 raptors. this beats the scene in the original where there are only 2 raptors against lex and timmy) all at the same time. malcom is trapped in a car, and sarah and kelly are in some type of a shed where the raptors are quickly finding ways in. LASTLY, the t-rex NEW YORK scene which always gets bashed by other reviewers. i think what steven was trying to do with this scene was give it something fresh and new, something that the audience has never seen before in a jurassic film: a dinasoar on the mainland. its exciting, thrilling, and finely directed. this is one scene in the film that you wait for all through out, waiting for it in antisipation. but wait my dear friends, this is only a TASTE on what will happen in the fourth movie (it is rumored that it will be surfaced around the dinasaors escaping onto the mainland). in my opinion, if this movie had all of those scenes but with better characters & a more straight-forward plot, then it would be better than the original. but, face it people, it is a worthy sequal. it deserves more respect than the third. P.S if you never knew before, like me (haha) the island that they're on (refured to as Isla Sorna or site B) is the one that they're on in the third instalment. if you dont have any of the jurassic park movies, buy the 3 movie pack (im stupid i bought them all individually). these movies, (well the first and second one at least) are examples of fine works of pure art and magic.. enjoy my lovies!! ??

Better than first - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

#3 was gay. #1 was okay. this one was great. at least theres no 10ft tall raptors hunting people with their superhuman intelligence. and there's no giant 100 foot spino-shiznit breaking electric fences and tearing planes to shreds. would have been better if it had followed the story of the book. i cant beleive they took richard levine & doc thorne out!! also the effects were great. i loved the giant dinosaur chase scene where you see the motorcycle go through the apatosaurs legs & those hummers cruising through the hadrosaur herd(best scene EVER). also wheres lewis dogson, everythings his fault. also loved the T-REX destroying cars(SWEET)

Utter @#$*! balls - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

This movie was just -----, ------g Spielburg is a joke. Anger, hostility, stupefecation are not emotions that should be elicited by a "summer" movie....or whenever the hell it came out.

What's the frikin' point??!! - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

I'm sorry, but after watching the original Jurassic Park, which was great and exciting, this sequel will only make you feel embarrassment for the people involved. Like come on! It wasn't even remotely scary or "thrilling", Steven Spielberg (who usually exceeds the expectations when it comes to originality and entertainment) falls significantly short, the actors don't make it believable or interesting, and the dinosaurs are the worst part about it! The raptors, t-rex's, etc.. in the first movie looked very realistic and sent shivers down your spine (or at least mine:S), and even though we progress in visual effects as the years go on, amazingly the dinosaurs practically look like they've been animated on the screen in this one. If only they'd taken the time to make a worth-while sequel, then maybe I wouldn't have wasted like 3 hours of my life on pure junk.

Violent!!! - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Well I'll start off with....it's violent!! This movie is more violent and suspenseful then the first one and the dinosaurs get smarter and more brutal. The story is very well thought out how some of the dinosaurs survived and reproduced. It starts off faster and they get right to the action in the first 15 minutes unlike the first one where it takes a half-hour to get to any dinosaurs. I'm sorry to say that Spielberg went all-out on violence in this one and a few scenes are quite disturbing. The most brutal scene is when two t-rex rip a man's body in half and chew on the remains. But overall it's an edge of your seat race against time that any tween to adult would enjoy. It should be okay for kids 10 and up.

"just follow the screams." - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

The Lost World: Jurassic Park, or Jurassic Park II as most people have called it, is one of those sequels that existed primarily because Jurassic Park made lots and lots of money. That's not to say that The Lost World is a terrible movie, but it reeked of "we only made this to make more money." Even when i read the Michael Crichton book, I had the same feeling. The book did irk me more than the movie did. In the book, Crichton killed off a character who all of a sudden was magically alive in the sequel. At least in the movie, the people who were dead in Jurassic Park stayed dead in The Lost World. This movie follows Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum) who becomes the only member of the party who toured Jurassic Park to go public with his story. Now a scientific outcast, Goldblum is offered the chance to check out a second dinosaur island for former owner John Hammond (Richard Attenborough). Malcom goes to the island with a new party of Dr. Harding (Julianne Moore), Nick (Vince Vaughn), and Eddie (Richard Schiff), with a special appearance by Ian's daughter from a previous marriage (Vanessa Lee Chester). Spielberg takes the stories in directions that are not as interesting as Jurassic Park went. The one terrifying scene comes via a cliché oment, with a van's windshield slowly cracking under the weight of one of our heroes. The true story of The Lost World involves another party of explorers, this time funded by Hammond's old company who wants to revive Jurassic Park, this time in San Diego. This subplot ushers in one of the silliest, non-needed series of events to happen in the long career of Steven Spielberg. If you have seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about.

The best one yet. - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

The coolest sequel to the Jurassic Park. The Lost World : Jurassic Park is an outstanding and a frightening dinosaur movie I've ever seen. Ireally recomend u to see The Lost World.

The best sequel in history - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

I dont care about the ratings as i enjoyed this movie very much.I wonder why everyone think that this is a very normal movie. Can the director do something more? no he thinks that he has given the best and there is no doubt about it.Of all this movie had more adventure than its ancestor.Though the camera work was worse it seemed watchable. As far as im concerned this movie is the best successor. The only big mistake in this movie is the cargo where the t-rex broke out of it and killed the crew and locked itself again.David koep has done a good work at the scripts. While the boring harry potter and the prisioner of azakaban was given B+ grade why shouldn't this movie be given such a grade. But people in india have enjoyed this movie and this was a grand success here.

Its big.its back and it's better than ever!!! - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

The Sequal is Awesome. It has even bigger thrills than teh Origanal. with the Edition of Vince Vaugh makes Jurrasic Park II one of the Greatest movies in 65 Million years.

Okay - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

This is an okay movie. It wasn't nearly as good as the first movie but it's still alright.I mean It's worth watching. The character, Dr.Grant, is cooler than the character that Jeff Goldblum.I hope I spelt those names right.

Perfect sequel - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

This film is incredible.A great sequel with more action than the first.Although it will never be as good as the first. The scenes were the trailer falls and the T-rex goes on a rampage are full of suspense.

The lost world - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Most sequals are stupid and never even come close to the first, but The Lost World:Jurassic Park comes pretty close to the first. The sory line was a little different than Jurassic Park, which made it interesting to watch. With good acting, a fairly different story, great visual effects, and near perfect directing, The Lost World is a decent movie and sequal, that most fans of Jurassic Park will enjoy. Excluding the strange ending in San Diego, but the rest of the movie is great.

One of the best films ever - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

This is a very enjoyable film. Spielberg is very gifted. His sequels were always different from the original films. I liked this film because the dinosaurs were so much more realistic than the first one and the story was so much more gripping.

Dinosaurs part 2 - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

This movie still has the great visuals but like most sequels is just not as good as the first. The concept is ok but not that great. It still has some action and a few comedic parts.Overall its good but it could have been better.

Dino-carnage - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Despite having more action, more impressive special effects and plenty of dino-carnage, the Lost World is unable to equal the entertainment quality of the original. The amazing special effects and impressive action sequences compensate for the movie's weak story.

Good - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Well the story was a little odd, but the acting and dinos were again awesome. A very nice follow to the first and best movie of all time!!!

Roar - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

A good sequel with tons of action and great special effect. This movie is not as catching as the first because after you watch it about 3 or 4 times it starts to get boring.

Crichton readers will be ashamed, no one else will - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Not the best movie ever (Jurassic Park is) and not the worst (Jurassic Park 3 is). This is probably the 10th to 15th best movie ever, or at least I'd say. The dinosaurs continue to rock, and look exceptionally real. Jeff Goldblum and Julia Roberts are great actors. All of those scenes with velociraptors and tyrant lizards are ones for the ages. The story is pretty good, but the relationship with the book was awful. And not like the Two Towers relationship with Tolkien was awful. If it had been as bad a relationship, the Telletubbies would have come to Middle Earth and had snowball fights with the heroes before saying Let's be friends!, and then the Orcs would have gone to Harry Potter land and attack the people at Hogwarts on flying brooms. Lost World entirely lost the story it should have followed. Half of the characters from the book do not make it into the movie, and half of the people in the movie (including all of those InGen guys and John Hammond) were not in the exciting Michael Crichton book. What the Jurassic Park franchise should have done was have this be like Crichton's book, then have the story in this movie be the one for the third, and totally trash that awful story the real third had to offer. Yet this is the movies only fault. A fine addition to a movie collection, just like Jurassic Park .

Different kind of dinosaur adventure - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

I saw this movie at the theater and I find it quite fun to watch when I was still interested in dinosaurs. This movie took place on the little island, that I wished it was a big island. I was very interested in dinosaurs when I was in elementary school. I found that attacks are random, and this time, the scientists lived in the little log cabin. When the dinosaurs (meat-eaters) attack people, I see blood and I cannot stand bloody sights (unless it is totally fake blood). The movie ends in peace with some small friendly dinosaurs in the tree, and the movie ends in peace. There is a little more to Jurassic Park than the movies. I went on the Jurassic Park ride in Universal Studios in California in December 1997, the trip we took after Christmas. The ride was soft, till we got to the big drop, then it was intense. After that, it was pretty much over.

Not as good as the first - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

I think it is not as good as the first but it was still pretty good. In this movie there was a lot more dinosaur action and thats what I like about movies. So any one out there needs a movie to watch tonight watch the jurassic park movies.

They're back ( and they suck) - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

am i the only one who thought this movie sucked? it was boring and pointless, especialy after the first. kinda like final destination 2, but better. the acting and visuals aren't the worst, but the story is.

A sequel worth seeing - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

The Lost World: Jurassic Park was really a fun movie to watch. I liked it a lot. It wasn't as good as Jurassic Park though. But Jeff Goldblum adds his own little brand of comedy to it, and it's really a good movie.

What an adventure!!!!!!! - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Wow, this is the first Jurassic Park movie i saw and i have to say it really blew my head, it was just great, i had an incredible moment in the cinema that day, one of the best i have had in a cinema. Somebody said in other comment that there was no chemistry among the characters, bah, that's a big lie, they had a relation very funny and did really fit in the story, and the product of their relationship was really amusing. The actors did a great job and gave the characters a really definite personality, for example, Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum) was the whole movie complaining of everything he could and was always ill-humored, Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore) was an adventurer-paleontologist that really wanted to change her life of bones digging out, Nick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn) was photographer that only worked for acknowledgment.......and money, of course......and so, if you mix them up you get an eccentric and funny mixture. Richard Attenboroughplayed a short but nice part in this movie. The script was really good despite of all those here that think not, it had a great plot and had a lot of funny lines, specially for Jeff Goldblum, and i couldn't help laughing, the jokes are very very smart, not cheap ones. The special effects are a subject apart here in this movie, i think this movie has the greatest of all time and haven't been excelled yet. The dinosaurs seemed alive and more (the first time i saw it i thought they were real, i was a kid then, don't get me wrong, i knew dinosaurs were extinct, but i just couldn't think this was a product of computers) The scene when the In-gen team arrives to the island and they chase the dinosaurs is worthy of admiration and it's not the only one. The music is the classic from the first, and so, it couldn't be better. It could adjust to scare tunes, to fun and adventure ones. Spielberg did a great job with this movie better than with the first one, this is the best of all until now, let's wait for the forth movie and expect it will be as good as this, let's hope so. So resuming, this is one of the greatest movies that i've seen, (and i've seen lots) and should have a rating much superior than it has now, come on, you have to be fair.......

Best sequel in history - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Wow!Execellent movie in the series.IN fact this was more adventurous than the first part but the star cast was poor .TRULY this is gonna be a thrilling experience to the viewers.Crichton's novel has guided the movie in the first part but the rest was in the hands of the direction god spielberg. Can there be such a sequel.Really mind blowing and must watch movie for those who are new to the series .are there any one?

Disappointing - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

After the greatness of the original Jurassic Park, I was expecting a great deal from the second installment. However, Spielberg decided to completely bastardize the story and not follow Michael Crichton's work at all. As a result this movie is difficult to watch. Jeff Goldblum is too over the top, and the final scene in San Diego is ridiculous. If the original ending of the Pteradachtyls attacking the helicopters was kept in place, this movie could have been good. However, the ending completely ruined the film. Even more saddening is that if Spielberg had even remotely followed the book, this movie would have probably been better than Jurassic Park.

The exciment "died" - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

What was this??? I mean they mixed together Jurassic Park with Godzilla and King Kong. They should've not stumbled away from the storyline The first half of the movie was great, but the second half was bad.

Sequel missing 'jurassic' spark - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

The premise of THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK II is that, unbeknownst to us at the end of the first movie, there was a second island off the coast of Costa Rica where dinosaurs roam. This was, in fact, the factory ? if you will ? where the star attractions of the amusement park featured in the first film were manufactured. It has remained a ?lost world? for four years. But now, corporate differences between the creator and operators of the dinosaur park make it impossible to keep the secret any longer. The creator sends Jeff Goldblum & co. to make scientific observations of the way life has found its way without human intervention. But, the operators have something else in mind: It?s not too long before the prehistoric paradise is over-run with game hunters and poachers who plan to make sport out of the most astonishing creatures on the face of the earth. When the research team stumbles upon a caravan of colossal creatures ? in this case, a herd of stegosauruses ? they are overwhelmed by the majesty of the beasts. ?Ooh, aah. That?s how it always starts,? mocks the irreverent Goldblum. In fact, the scene is a carbon copy of the scene in the first movie in which we get our first spectacular glimpse of the awesome fauna of the place. Unfortunately, however, we soon find out that the entire sequel is not much more than a formulaic re-thread of the types of sequences that worked out well in the first film. If this film were the basis for our understanding of dinosaurs, we would think that tyrannosauruses really liked throwing vehicles over cliffs, and that velociraptors liked to build up suspense in elaborate sets before making their kills. Oh, yeah, and whenever the T-Rex gets caught before a breath-taking backdrop, he is wont to roar. In fact, the scenes in The Lost World involving these two admittedly photogenic species are carbon copies of similar (albeit, memorable) sequences in the first film. Clearly, in a film like this, the dinosaurs are the feature attraction. So much so, that one almost feels silly complaining about the human characters? lack of depth. But, in THE LOST WORLD, the film-makers spend so much time trying to convince us that the people are full-fledged that they make it necessary for us to note how badly they have failed. The attempts to make the characters compelling are so pathetic and half-baked that I found myself thinking, ?Come on, Director. Just get back to the dinosaurs.? Early in the film, we find out that Jeff Goldblum has an African-American daughter. No explanation for this is given, and we can only suppose that this is to establish how progressive and out of the mainstream his character really is. Unfortunately, though, such a characterization smacks so much of the formulaic, politically-correct fluff we get in so many pictures, that this turns out to water down the character, and not give him any edge. The bad guys in the movie are the usual, stock villains that we have seen in every B-rate picture ever made. Perhaps, film-makers assume that we know these mass-produced caricatures so well that we would never question what rock they crawled under from. Thus, when it happens, we neither grieve nor really rejoice in the poetic justice of it all. We are only left with an empty feeling, a grieving, as it were, but for the short-comings of human imagination. And, that?s all there?s to it. Nothing else. If you like dinosaur movies, rent JURASSIC PARK. (Carlos Colorado)

The lost world : site b - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Site A Isla Nublar, was only for tourist and for attractions, but Site B was a darker side of the island, Isla Sorna. In this Dr. Grant is out of the picture. But Dr. Malcome is back. John Hammid wants a small group of people to go and do some research or something like that. But, Malcome doesn't want to, but it's also to late because his girlfriend is already on the island. Now he has to go back and get Dr. Harding with Eddie and Nick Van Owen (Was not a character in a book, but a great character in the movie), in the mean time Hammid's newphew is going to take the dino's and put them in another park on San Deigo, they bring back a T-Rex and all the crazyness starts to happen on San Diego. The best part I thought was when their trailer fell off the cliff. This one did not have a strong story as the first, but it had a good story, it had more suspence, more action, more thrills and chills, and a lot better visuals in this one. The Lost World is another great book, written by Micheal Crichton. I liked this one way better than the first Jurassic Park. It had a better cast, but I really thought Grant should've have came back, but it didn't happen in the book. I truely recommend this one. The last one was the worst. THE LOST WORLD : JURASSIC PARK TOPS ALL!!!!

A good follow up - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

Anyone who has read Michael Crichton's books JURASSIC PARK and THE LOST WORLD will know that the books kick the movies' sorry little ass. But the movies are also fine little works on their own. In the original Jurassic Park, scientists led by a brilliant madman bring dinosaurs back to life and stick them on an island in Costa Rica. Of course, when the first people come the dinosaurs break out, eat them, and the project is cancelled. The island gets nuked, dinosaurs die, end of story, right? NO! In The Lost World, we find out that there is another island with more dinosaurs, freeroaming this time, interacting just like they did back when our parents were in grade school. Two teams go in, one wanting to take the dinosaurs to a zoo in San Diego (not the main one), the other trying to save them. Bunch of stuff happens, they team up for survival, and they airlift a T-rex back to San Diego. Rexy escapes, more stuff happens, and he gets sent back. Very cool. Before we get into the content, let me state a few thing about this movie. First, Jeff Goldblum is a ***** and a drug addict. His character is already weird, and he screws it up even more. Just to add on more *****, he has a black daughter. What is up with that? No talent whatsoever. Secondly, the reason this movie is the best of the three is that it shows the main predators correctly. No 200 foot tall spinosaurus (the real spinosaurus was actually a scavenger with extremely weak jaws, and fairly small) or gay-ass "raptors" jumping around killing everything with human intelligence. Next thing you know, the movie producers will make them have x-ray vision and shoot lasers out of their eyes! The rex is king, the raptors sit and cowardly attack people from the "long grass", and everything is good. Now, why is this the best Jurassic Park Movie? I'll tell you why: The chase scene - when about 20 different hummers and motorcycles are chasing a huge herd of herbivorous dinosaurs, bringing a few down. This is the best scene a movie has EVER had, and the best part has to be when the guy rides a motorcycle inbetween the legs of the HUGE apatosaurus. "Don't go into the long grass!" - that has to be the best movie line ever, when the nerdy AJ guy is shouting and throwing his backpack, then going in with the rest of them to be ambushed and taken out by the raptors. Wonderful. The stegosaurs - the first real dinos you see, these huge beasts almost kill Jeff Goldblum's ugly girlfriend when she's in a log and they ram their tail spikes in. I could watch this a hundred times and not get bored - it's pretty damn cool stuff. All things considered, Jurassic Park II: The Lost World is the best Jurassic Park movie ever made and one of the top five best movies ever (Im not sure of the exact order, but this would be in it)

The lost world : jurassic park - The Lost World: Jurassic Park Reviews

I thought this one was far better. Not really better than the first, but a bit better. don't get me wrong, Jurassic is fun and cool, but Lost World is better. It had more suspense and it had more action. The visuals are still awesome! If you thought that this Jurassic sucked, check out the third one. Now that one really sucked!!!
